147 TYPE Power Amplifier 230 VAC.(without tubes)

This amplifier has been manufactured to the specifications of the one that had the classic cabinet called Leslie 145/147, updated and improved substantially in most of its components.

The structure of the transformers has been respected in their construction, with respect to the coils, tensions, section of the conductors, etc. It has been equipped with solid state relays (SSR), in addition to incorporating the stop option (slow, stop, fast), gaining smoothness in the changes, with respect to the mechanical ones that were installed in the past, and that gave so many problems with clicks, etc., for decades.

Pedal for changing gears, as shown in the photographs, although a half-moon pedal can also be used instead of the pedal, according to preferences. It has been equipped with an IEC base with a fuse, switch and pilot light for the power supply, a much more comfortable and versatile option, without depending on the typical 6-pin hoses, which so limited the use of the amplifier.

Ceramic or Belton-type bases on the valves, to withstand high temperatures with greater solvency. High quality electrolytic capacitors with a range of up to 500 V, NOS filtering capacitors of Russian manufacture, military grade, as well as resistors mostly made of carbon, always with the aim of respecting the original tone.

Remember that the amplifier works with an unbalanced line, and that the signal must be provided in this way for it to have the correct performance.

The connection is with a 6.35 mm unbalanced jack cable for the audio, and balanced for the gear change. If you have any questions about this, please ask.

The units sold in Europe in the 60s/70s, even though the power supply was 230V, the motors worked at 117V, (it is indicated on the motor labels, you have to look there), so if you intend to replace your old amplifier, you have to make sure of this, and indicate it so that the unit can be powered at 230V, but the motors at 117V. If on the other hand you want to convert a transistor amplifier whose motors are 230V, the unit must be configured in this way. The 12AU7 preamp tube, equipped with shielding.

The unit is sold and supplied, with the pedal or half moon, for changing speeds included, but WITHOUT TUBES.

These components (TUBES) will define a lot the character of the amplifier, so we think it will be interesting for the user to decide.

As a suggestion, if you can get a set of NOS (news old stock) tubes, we recommend this option.

This brand new 147 style tube amplifier is a direct replacement for your old Leslie 147 amplifier.

This chassis will mount in place of your old amplifier and only requires rewiring of a speaker connector which is not necessary or soldering. Shipping to Europe...............check with postcode.
